Garda Síochána Inspectorate
Police oversight body in Ireland
The Garda Síochána Inspectorate (Irish: Cigireacht an Gharda Síochána), often simply the Garda Inspectorate, is a statutory independent body in Ireland, established to assure the effectiveness and efficiency of the police and security service of the country, the Garda Síochána. It can conduct inspections on its own initiative or at the request of Ireland's Policing Authority or the relevant minister.[1]
